This position requires working closely with a team lead Design Engineer on project-based output, from concept through to production; converting ideas into 3D models and producing detailed drawings for manufacture. We seek a ‘self-starter’ able to expand the drawing library of Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHAs) along with connection drawings of older existing equipment. This individual will collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team and will contribute to other projects involving our technical leading downhole tools, also spending time testing the new designs.
This individual must be diversely skilled with a qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, ideally to PhD level. Requires an excellent understanding of microcontrollers, analogue and digital circuits to design electronic circuits and must hold experience in debugging electronic circuits. Must also be capable to design and develop software and firmware, with experience writing firmware for microcontrollers; knowledge of the C programming language will be essential in this regard.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will lead a project and be required to overcome technical challenges on time and to budget. They will collaborate with a multi-discipline design team and contribute to other projects involving our technical leading downhole tools, from concept through to production; converting ideas into 3D models, producing detailed drawings for manufacture and delivering designs from initial concept through to production.
